It’s funny- I have always loved greeting cards. I love sending them, making them, and certainly receiving them. My favorite is to send or to receive for no special reason at all.
And then there is Christmas. What wonderful wonder arrives in the mailbox. Each day a card or two, or even ten- I enjoy these most. I love seeing how children have grown, hearing what people are up to and seeing the textures, the glitter, the images of what people choose to send each other. It is amazing to me. Joy in the mailbox. I can almost hear the Christmas carols as I open each envelope.
I will be transparent, since my mother died, and then my father, sending cards – especially Christmas cards has been particularly difficult. One year I even addressed each envelope and yet never sent them. UGH! For me, my favorite time of year has been saddened a bit. My parents were the light of Christmas for me. They established countless traditions that I cannot even begin to express the amazing impact.
Christmas cards, like other cards are simply a delight to receive in the mailbox. It is fun for me that people still send them. In an age where email and texting seems to be our primary form of communication, the thoughtfulness it takes at such a hectic time of year, I dearly appreciate.
So, – the launch of my card company- 2016
2017 will bring a shopable website.
