When I began my card business, I did so with two motivations. The first (and probably most important) was that I love sending cards in general. I love sending cards, particularly for no reason at all! Also, I was keenly aware that I could translate my art and sentiments into something accessible and beautiful.
Before I had my own card business, I spent a great deal of time looking for cards in a variety of places. Independent shops were my absolute favorite. Their cards were not always the cookie-cutter variety and I loved looking at the different techniques, colors, and textures of the stock. I would buy cards for all occasions, but ESPECIALLY for no reason. I loved sending cards! I love decorating envelopes, and choosing special stamps (no flag stamps here! – unless I am absolutely desperate!) I love the whole process! (I even feel excited driving to the post box to drop off the cards!)
That said-“Thinking of you” week begins next Monday! This is an international week where you are encouraged to send a card, just because.
This is from the “Thinking of you” site: (I couldn’t say it better myself!)
Thinking of You Week is a special week that harnesses the emotional power of greeting cards to create a wave of love, caring, and happiness. Sending and receiving handwritten notes and cards can have a positive impact on our well-being and mental health. Connect with your loved ones, friends, and acquaintances by sending a card, handmade or carefully chosen. To say thank you, thinking of you, or just because.
There will be LOTS of fun to come in the next week! I have goodies galore, cards, and other fun too! Most of all I am thinking of you! sending you so much love!
