Memories of the loveliest kind

It always feels odd to share a memory from so long ago But, having Louise Slaughter in my studio for a small business meeting was an incredible experience. She was gracious and kind. She was a trooper and climbed the stairs and traversed the halls of the Hungerford to get to my studio.

At one point she pulled me asside for a private conversation. She asked me if Create Art 4 Good was my full time focus, I replied, “yes, but also, I work full time during the day”. She got that gleam in her eye that she often did when she spoke with passion. She said (and I will NEVER forget this), ” Susan, I am so proud of you, you are making a difference in this world. Don’t ever quit.”

As I write this, it is still hard to hold back the tears. I share this for one reason- words matter. Intention, matters. Speak kindly, share hope, you are making a difference in this world.
