While the world around me celebrates Halloween with costumes, plastic ghosts, and playful scares, I’ve never really connected with that side of the season. I love autumn – the colors, the coolness in the air, the sound of leaves crunching underfoot. I love the slower pace and sweater weather. (who doesn’t love a cozy sweater?) But Halloween itself? Not so much.
I’ve often said, I can handle real ghosts, just not the fake ones.
For me, this time of year isn’t about fear or fright. It’s about reflection and connection – the thinning of the veil, as many say -when the world grows quieter and the whispers of spirit feel closer. It’s a season for listening.
That’s what inspired my new deck, The Spirit Whispers.
This deck isn’t about ghosts or hauntings. It’s about the blessings of spirit, the gentle nudges, the intuitive truths, the quiet ways love and guidance reach us when we open our hearts. Each card is a reminder that we are supported in ways we can’t always see, that even in loneliness, there is presence. There is love. There is more.
Every card features my original monoprinted and altered art as its background, with messages that were channeled through deep listening. This is my fifth deck, and perhaps the most intimate – a bridge between the seen and unseen, created to help us tune into our highest selves.
I’ll be sharing a preview of The Spirit Whispers Deck this weekend at Boo Fest at The Purple Door in Brighton, NY. (I am so excited to share with you!) It feels fitting to celebrate a different kind of spirit in the midst of a holiday that often masks it.
May this deck serve as a gentle invitation to listen, to trust, and to remember: you are never alone. The spirit world -in all its quiet, loving wisdom -is always whispering.
